These skunk cabbages along Lynn Valley
Canyon in North Vancouver graced one of my favorite hiking paths. Years
later, I painted the memory from a sketch. Skunk cabbages always charm
me, because when my father first discovered them, he presented a
stunning bouquet to my mother. The odor made it impossible for her to
keep them in the house, but we laughed about the story for years.
