This industrial scene from my
converted factory loft studio always offers drama, from sunrise spectacles to lightning storms to firework displays. I especially enjoy the friendship of the houses on Broad Street as
they maintain their dignity amid their enormous factory and power plant
neighbors.

Piermont Landing (Oil on Canvas 12 x 16)
These houses on the West Bank of the Hudson River seem
to enjoy their tourist-town attention. I painted this scene at a
meeting of fellow Plein Air painters. The painting reflects the happy
mood of our gentle weather day, the cyclists stopping to chat and our
group as we painted and picnicked.

Who wouldn't find inspiration at Weir Farm? Artists J. Alden Weir,
Mahonri Young and Sperry Andrews lived and worked in these historic buildings in Weston CT, a site I enjoyed very much with fellow Plein Air painters.
